The world's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with key context. All items mentioned here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into the many unique products and bundles available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let’s explore a couple of surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can cheat powerful creatures into the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It is treated as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.
Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior game designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. Yet as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you pair them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Take a look below:
This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon includes 37 land cards.)
What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

Pizza-Themed Bundle

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. There are six different pizza promos available.
This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
